Verivox is one of Europe’s largest independent consumer portals for energy and telecommunications products. Our websites enable consumers to compare available tariffs with just a few clicks and switch directly to their best-suited supplier.
Our goal is to facilitate price transparency within our chosen markets by offering the most comprehensive, independent and trustworthy information. Consumers can then make informed decisions affecting their daily finances without spending too much time researching topics they may not fully understand.

The energy and telecommunications markets are a veritable "tariff jungle", and an increasingly large number of consumers are finding the huge number of tariffs on offer more confusing than helpful.
For Germany alone, the Verivox database currently encompasses over 17,500 energy tariffs from over 970 electricity and 790 gas suppliers, in addition to 2,200 telecommunications tariffs from more than 390 providers. Our tariff comparison tool presents this information in a clear and structured way, making it easily understandable to users.
Our databases are updated daily by our dedicated research teams working in several cities world wide. Our data is primarily based on the meticulous analysis of thousands of suppliers’ online offers. We also work in close co-operation with supplier organisations, from which we receive tariff data updates. Our product managers ensure the high quality of our tariff data by clarifying all complex tariffs with suppliers’ tariff departments. -
Our tariff calculators are developed in-house in order to enable us to adapt to any changes in tariff structure, such as the recent introduction in Germany of dual fuel tariffs. The calculators are designed to offer personalised and up-to-date price comparisons.
Additionally, our energy and telecommunications experts provide intelligent and informed content in the form of news articles, industry information and consumer advice.
In August 2008, Verivox was nominated as a test winner by the Stiftung Warentest with a rating of 1.1 in a comparison of eleven electricity tariff calculators. In the test (issue 09/2008), Verivox.de was the only electricity tariff calculator to be awarded the rating "very good".
The Saarland Technical Control Board (TÜV) tested the customer service offered by Verivox.de and rated it with an overall "good". Hans-Dieter Flesch, the TÜV Saarland Certification Sales Manager, stated that they "only award the TÜV stamp to companies which attain excellent results in terms of service.". -
Verivox is independent of organisations operating in the energy and telecommunications sectors. The majority shareholder in Verivox is Oakley Capital, a private equity firm from England, which holds 51 percent of Verivox shares. The remaining shares are held by managing directors Andrew Goodwin and Alexander Preston.
