Verivox offers two main services, both of which are invaluable in helping identify, attract and secure new customers.

1. Multiple Acquisition Channels

Verivox offers four different customer acquisition channels. In addition to our price comparison tools on the Verivox.de website, customers can also contact us by e-mail, telephone enquiry via an 0800 number or post. Our inbound call centres in Heidelberg, Magdeburg and Mannheim receive up to 20 000 calls per day, whilst our e-mail team responds to over 400 e-mails per day. Consequently, we have as many as 150 call centre agents and 33 e-mail agents active depending on conditions.

We also have a large network of online sales partners. These include fellow comparison portals such as strompreise.de (“powerprices.de”) and news sites such as faz.net (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), which use our comparison calculators on their websites.

2. Sign-Up

In order to facilitate the customer acquisition process, we offer a number of sign-up methods. Customers have several options. They can:

a) Complete the entire process online (depending on supplier)
b) Complete and print out the contract in PDF to sign and send in (FREEPOST)
c) Receive the contract by post, which they complete and return (FREEPOST)

By offering such a comprehensive and flexible service, we are able to reach customers who might normally be put off by an online sign-up process. Customers can also reach our teams for advice at any stage of the switching process.

3. Contract Processing

Each contract that Verivox receives from customers undergoes a series of checks to ensure it is complete and accurate before being sent to the relevant supplier. If an error is discovered, our contract processing team contacts the customer in order to rectify the problem. This reduces contract rejections and also minimises the workload for suppliers, saving both time and money. Contracts can be sent to suppliers electronically (*.xls, *.csv, html or SFTP, allowing customer data to be uploaded directly into suppliers’ systems) and/or by post.


Market Research


Verivox has a database containing well over 100 000 power and gas tariffs, replicating all available German power tariff data since liberalisation in 1998. We also collate information relating to regional availability of tariffs, number of households in a particular area and customer switching data. We are therefore well positioned to provide an overview of past and current market activity.

We publish data relating to electricity market performance on a monthly basis. In addition to available tariffs in the market (for domestic and small business customers) we also publish information relating to price differentials between available tariffs, non-energy price components (taxes, transmission and distribution charges) and clients switching providers. The data is published on a postcode basis and custom-generated maps aid visualisation of the data.
